Learn the art of beautiful and functional nautical knots in this hands-on workshop led by Melbourne artist Michelle Harvey, known for her best-selling knotted designs with Crayon Chick.
The class is suitable for beginners and craft enthusiasts alike. You will be guided through the steps to unleash your creativity as you master timeless techniques. All material is provided – just bring your enthusiasm!

These two friends are having fun presenting a body of work inspired by their love of the sea.
Expect cheeky fish, local seascapes, abstracted ocean and a catch of flashing fins in ceramic and copper wire.
Works range from small (and affordable) to high-impact large-scale paintings in oils and synthetic polymer.

Apollo Bay Rural Australians For Refugees (ABRAR) is holding a community social and fundraising event, at the Mechanics Hall with the Gallery displaying information, stories, photographs and artworks. We want to share the valuable work that ABRAR does, introduce the Afghan families that are generously supported by the people of Apollo Bay and shine a light on the lives of refugees and migrants more generally.
This social event aims to increase awareness of the plight of refugees and help the community understand the role of the ABRAR.

Anne Dean's debut solo exhibition promises an immersive journey into the heart of her gardens’ natural world, inviting viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of life and the profound impact of our stewardship.
Anne captures the emotions and nuances of her native garden from a close-up perspective, translating the enchantment of her garden onto canvas.
The creation process unfolds in layers, as watercolours and acrylics intertwine over pencil and pastel sketches. Anne embraces the serendipitous interplay of colour and texture and the cutting of shapes to create a collage that provides delightful surprises.

An exhibition imagined as a shop/studio and interactive space where you can join workshops to explore making your own textiles.
Wear Your Art seeks to consider fabric as a precious commodity, heirloom item and artisan object. Consumption, mixed with hyper forms of manufacture, has reduced most clothing to a throw-away culture.
A more considered approach to fashion and function, framed as art, is now more relevant than ever before.
This exhibition includes workshops, demonstrations and artist talks.

IMMERSION: 'the mental state of immersing oneself in our environment, the Australian coastline and the sea’.
Suzette and Chantal are sisters living and working on the Australian coastline. This exhibition reflects their relationship to coastal environments, including bio-based forms, totems and seascapes. They explore their relationship to the land and the places we call home.
Works include oil paintings, watercolours, ceramics and sculpture.

Artists: Danni Sandford and Michelle Fillmore
"Our Ocean" explores Danni and Michelle’s interpretation of their coastal life and their love for the ocean. Both women are local ocean swimmers and have an intimate relationship with our local coast. Local areas are highlighted in some of their paintings.
Danni Sandford uses mixed mediums which include acrylics, crayons and pastels to create bright, colourful paintings. Michelle Fillmore uses acrylic paint/pours, resin, sand and recycled materials to create vibrant paintings and functional art.

Artists: Karlijn Sas, Jacqueline Betsy Lord, Francisca Verwoert
Showcasing recent work by three local artists, this exhibition gives us an opportunity to get together during the first 'King's Birthday' weekend, ahead of the winter solstice.
Jacqueline Betsy Lord is a Skenes Creek North based artist, making jewellery using vintage glass and precious metals in the Gadubanud Country of the Otways. Her work gets stocked by Boom Gallery in Geelong and Arbor Brunswick.
Sisca Verwoert is a Marengo based artist working in oils on canvas. Her painting springs together elements of the Otway Ranges with a heightened colour palette. Sisca’s work gets exhibited at Qdos Arts Gallery in Lorne.
Karlijn Sas is an Apollo Bay based artist working in acrylic and gold leaf on board. She uses colours that the human visual system adjusts when there are changes in illumination, causing every individual to see the colours in her artwork slightly differently.

Artist: Vair Buchanan
Vair is a Melbourne-based illustrator and writer who has spent the past fortnight in Marengo as an artist-in-residence.
Vair's intention was to create a series of paintings depicting the native flora of Marengo, but when the birds came to visit she felt compelled to draw them instead. That is the unpredictable nature of creative inspiration.
Vair's bird series are ink and watercolour paintings on vintage rag paper.

They are moments of time brought into the now as still-frames wrestled from the continuous cinema of the imagination.
