The Gallery
Established in 2012, Apollo Bay Arts Inc. Gallery is a quality exhibition space on the Great Ocean Road. It is an initiative of Apollo Bay Arts Inc, a group of volunteers with a passion for the arts.
The gallery is located in the beautiful light-filled front room of the town’s iconic heritage hall and operates with the support of the Apollo Bay Mechanics Hall Committee.
The aim of the Gallery is to encourage and support local and emerging artists by providing a quality, accessible and affordable gallery space for them to exhibit their work. Individuals and groups are encouraged to exhibit.
Arts Inc. Gallery operates as an artist-run space. It is a not-for-profit initiative. 10% of artwork sales requested following your hire to assist in gallery infrastructure costs and day-to-day maintenance of our unique community space.
The application process aims to ensure that exhibited work is of a professional standard ensuring the long-term success of the gallery.

History
Apollo Bay Arts Inc. is proud to bring you the Arts Inc. GALLERY. A project realised by an energetic team of volunteers and funded with a grant from the Colac Otway Shire and profits from the annual Apollo Bay Art Show.
Following Cate Cousland's suggestion, Gayle Seach, Jo Forrest, Cate Cousland and Andrew Strang met in 2012 to form a committee and apply to the shire for a grant to refurbish the one-time Gumboot Gallery (and former town library) as a dedicated art gallery for Apollo Bay.
The group renovated the gallery, with Craig Rippon doing the painting, Andrew Strang designing and installing the lighting, hanging tracks and nylon lines. Gayle prepared and painted the sleeper bench top she donated and Andrew provided the iPod and speakers. Peter Bourne designed the signs for the gallery. Jo Forrest and Gayle Seach worked hard as coordinator and treasurer of the gallery for many years.
The group decided on the goals of this community-based exhibit hall and is responsible for setting up the Arts Inc Gallery as we know it today.

Upgrade 2019 / 2020
We were generously granted a Colac Otway Shire Grant in 2019.
This allowed us to give our little gallery a much-needed facelift!
She's never looked better!
We painted our walls, sanded our floors built much needed storage.
